By reusing over 60% of the existing 1996 Community Activities Center an addition expanded the center to 108,000 square feet.

The mission of the expansion was to create a destination for Grapevine residents to congregate, play and swim and to allow Grapevine Parks & Recreation Department to provide efficient services to those residents. The REC of Grapevine is a distinct mix of indoor aquatics, fitness, community and 55 & Better all under one roof.
