Rec Camp is all about Community Recreation and fills the void of conferences dedicated to the education of Parks & Recreation professionals in the intricacies of planning, designing, building and operating Community Recreation Centers.

What is the Rec Camp itinerary?

Rec Camp will start at 3:00 pm on Monday and wrap up around 12:00 pm on Thursday.

– Monday Afternoon: 3:00pm – Registration Opens 

– Monday Afternoon: 4:00-5:30 pm – Facility Operations Workshop

– Monday Evening: 5:30-7:30 pm – Welcome Reception

– Tuesday and Wednesday 7am – 6pm – Facility Tours 

– Thursday morning: 8am- Noon – Community Recreation Workshop

What is the Cost?

$525 – Early bird is a $50 discount good until March 27, 2023. This includes a water bottle and the welcome reception (drinks and apps). Hotel room is an additional cost.

Do you take POs?

Yes, select the PO option at check out. If you pay by purchase order your confirmation email will act as your invoice. Send Check to:

You will remain on the wait list until payment is received. There is a $1 processing fee for PO’s

We encourage you to pay on your own credit card and get your organization to reimburse you if that is a possibility.

When does registration open up?

Monday, October 3rd

Why is there a limit of 45 registrants?

We pride ourselves on small numbers to give each camper a personal experience. Campers will be grouped into teams of 8-9 people with two counselors. Also, we only have one bus that holds about 45, so there you go.

Are CEUs available?

Rec Camp has partnered with the Colorado Parks & Recreation Association to offer Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for attendants.

What is the 1/2 day Planning Workshop on Friday?

The 1/2 day Community Planning Workshop on Friday is an interactive session focused on the planning, design and operations of community recreation centers. Facilitators will guide groups through a roll playing scenario with real life applications. Watch a video here.

Will meals be provided at Rec Camp?

Monday evening heavy appetizers will be served at the welcome reception. Light breakfast (breakfast burritos, granola bars, fresh fruit), will be grab-and-go on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be provided on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dinner is on your own. Snacks will be provided mid-morning on Thursday during the workshop. The hotel has room service, a coffee shop and a full-service restaurant that serves food from 6:30am to 10:00pm. Additionally, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Will transportation be provided?

The Renaissance Boulder Flatiron is only a 40 minute drive from Denver International Airport, which has multiple car rental services; taxi, Uber, Lyft, and rail service to Union Station in downtown Denver.

If you are planning to go to Denver, it is about a 35 minute drive from the hotel.

A bus will be provided for tours on Tuesday and Wednesday.

What amenities does the hotel have?

The Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel has a fitness center, pool, Starbucks or in-room coffee & tea, restaurant and a wide range of services available to guests. Visit the hotel site for more info.

Conveniently located between Denver and Boulder, the Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel is close to many area attractions.
